The Pentagram / Pentacle

The pentagram is a five pointed interlocking star design that can be traced back to  ancient Greece and Babylonia, and was associated with early Christianity and Wiccan beliefs.  It is a symbol connected to femininity, mother nature and the five elemental powers of air, water, earth, fire and the fifth element, spirit. 

A pentacle is the pentagram star pictured within circle. The circle symbolises an  extra level of protection and is used as a talisman, magical object and a symbol of the element of earth.
